How we began

From one shared meal to thousands.

In the winter of 2014, a small group of neighbors noticed families in our community quietly going without. What started as coats and casseroles shared from a church basement became something bigger: a promise that no one nearby would face hunger or crisis alone.

More than a decade later, Harvest Haven serves thousands of families each year. We've grown, but our heart hasn't changed — we still believe help is best given face-to-face, with warmth and without judgment.

What guides us

Mission, vision & values

🎯

Our Mission

To meet the urgent needs of families in hardship while opening doors toward lasting stability — with dignity at the center of everything we do.

🌅

Our Vision

A community where every family has enough — enough food, enough security, and enough support to thrive through any season.

💛

Our Promise

Everyone who reaches out is met with respect. No judgment, no red tape that turns people away — just real help from real neighbors.

The principles we live by

Values that shape our work

  • Dignity first. We serve people, not cases. Everyone deserves to be treated with respect.
  • Whole-family care. We look beyond the immediate need to support the entire household.
  • Community-powered. Volunteers and local partners are the engine of everything we do.
  • Stewardship. We honor every gift by keeping 95¢ of each dollar in direct programs.
  • No barriers. We keep the door wide and the paperwork light so help reaches people fast.
  • Lasting change. We pair today's relief with a path toward tomorrow's stability.
